Flash

For any of you who know flash, I was working on a project for a friend this past weekend and ran into a complication. The general idea of the flash is to be a simple video with text in the background that has letters appearing at different times while an image flashes in and out in front of the text. I made the flashing image into a movie simple which works fine. The text I also made into a movie symbol and simply used the paint tool in various frames to filter out the letters I didn't want to show yet. The text movie symbol works fine on its own, but when I combine it with the image symbol, it breaks itself for some unknown reason. Suddenly the paint filter is off, so rather than individual letters appearing nice and clean, I get various parts of letters showing up. Know what's wrong with my project?? Know a simple way to fix it??

Well, I suggest you talk with PCTechNerd with those stuff. Didn't he say he works with stuff like these before?

email me the .fla and i'll take a look at what you're trying to do and give you some suggestions.  it's kinda hard to get the grasp of what you're trying to do with words.


Edit:  I took your .fla and remade it as an example of the best way to do that. the way i did it leaves it open to alot more customization and animation.


here's a hint ^^  when you click on some text, hold ctrl and press B to break apart the text into different objects for each letter.
