I have no idea why the hell masked layers won't work for me. I know I've talked to you about this before. There is some minor detail that is off when I try to make a masked layer. It's not like they're a hard concept, but they just refuse to work for me. The moment I touch one it seems to break. Hopefully we can try to figure out what the hell I'm doing wrong sometime.

What I want to do with a masked layer is simply make some vertically scrolling text. I was going to have my text block start out of the picture then incrementally move up under a mask and then once it has moved off the top, jump back to the bottom and start again. Unfortunately, it just never shows up when I have the mask layer there. The text block is moving fine. The moment I add the mask layer, the text block doesn't show up at all.

^^^^ have fun blazing but keep in mind sprites are limited to whatever they were animated to do in whatever game/...whatever you stole them from. They hire many an artist to do the frame by frame motion, so creating your own is practicaly impossible. Sad

That may be true but I've seen many sprite animations and they seem pretty fine to me. Like the Flash video of Super Mario Bros. Z. Alvin-Earthworm did a pretty good job of getting the Mario sprites and Sonic sprites together.
