Yeah, sounds like a plan. I was watching Flash videos on newgrounds and let me tell you. There was some awesome flash videos. But what I wanted to learn was how to create a sprite animation. So, if you can help me, that would be awesome.

I have never for a second ever made flash, but when I was studying C++ and open SDL sprites were animated by placing all the frames of the sprite as seperate gifs in a directory, and it created the sprite by changing the gif with the next one (i.e. sprite02) every time the screen was refreshed. It may be different in flash, idk. I usually looked for sprite sheets and chopped them up with photoshop.

lightly. I wanted to go farther but our teacher was a total prick and wanted us to study html, which in my opinion is like the retarded offspring of a programing language. I was working on building a raiden triad style sprite game with open SDL when he made us build a webpage for a company we had to make up. SO ANGRY :mad:

java is great... for web based apps. I like C++ because of the ABSOLUTE freedom to crate prettymuch anything. I haven't worked with java, but im guessing that since it's a plugin it's got a few core libraries that don't alow for much coding flexibility, where as with a language like C++ you can create your own personal .dll and .lib files, and create your VERY OWN EXEs !!!:cool:

Actually you can anything in Java that you can do in C++. The whole browser plugin is for Java applets which are only a very small portion of Java. You can't officially create a .exe, but you can create a .jar that runs when double-clicked so it's the same damn thing. The nice part about Java is....platform independence (at least in theory) because it runs on a virtual machine. That's why you can't directly make a .exe because that's platform specific (Windows). It's great stuff. Honestly, most places are dropping C (and by that I mean C++ and C Sharp as well) for Java.

diferent languages have diferent personalities. Is java an OOP language? Object oriented languages are pretty much the only thing retail games can be made with... so how far does java let you mess with it's self? could you technically create java (X) using the current version of java?:confused:
